Senior Trade Compliance Specialist
Location:
Europe / fully remote
You as a
Senior Trade Compliance Specialist are responsible for ensuring compliant export activity of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This includes, without limitation, adherence to all applicable U.S.
and Non-U.S, laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well as ensuring compliance with Thermo Fisher Scientific corporate, divisional and local policies.
A day in the Life:
- Be responsible for screening raised transactions according to export control regulations (e.g., enduse certificate, full customer background check) with a focus on China.
- Provide mentorship on suspicious transactions and follow up, raise to leadership, if vital.
- Review and update export control processes and SOPs according to business needs
- Provide training to different functions (e.g., Commercial, distributors) upon request.
- Recordkeeping for trade compliancerelated documentation.
- Communication with local and global partners in different functions.
- Support in general topics/issues with trade compliancerelated topics (risk management, technology transfer, etc.)
- Support within ITprojects regarding trade compliancerelated processes
Keys to Success:
Education
- At least bachelor's degree in law/English/economics/trade/ or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience in trade compliance / export control in a multinational company
- Proficiency in English language (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus
- Deep core competence around US and EU export control as well as sanctions regulations
- Very proficient in PPT and Excel, SAP/CRM/oracle experience is a plus
