AOP Health is the European pioneer for integrated therapies for rare diseases and in critical care.

To enhance our team in Vienna we are looking for an International Director of Market Access, Governmental Affairs & Patient Advocacy (f/m/d).


In this key position as International Director of Market Access, Governmental Affairs & Patient Advocacy, you will drive global strategies for seamless patient access to AOP's products.

Your expertise will influence stakeholders ranging from Insurance Companies to Government Officials, crafting a comprehensive engagement strategy. With a focus on synthesizing global market insights, you'll guide market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies across all levels. Leading the HQ team, you'll empower field representatives through value dossier development and pharmacoeconomic modeling. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, you'll drive alignment with AOP's overarching strategies throughout the product lifecycle.


What Your Day To Day Will Look Like:

  • Market Access/Pricing and Reimbursement: Lead the formulation and execution of global/regional market access strategies for commercialized products, ensuring alignment with government guidelines and approvals
  • Direct the development of market access strategies for products in the pipeline prior to launch, optimizing resource allocation for timely reimbursement, optimal pricing, and access across specified territories
  • Collaborate with internal/external vendors to create market access tools and information sets, providing critical input during early decision phases for global development and launch programs Ensure optimal launch and inmarket prices, aligned with commercial strategies, and contribute insights on the impact of competitor actions on business strategy
  • Support Commercial Strategy and Field success by providing country teams with relevant tools and services for effective fieldbased communication strategies in local Health Systems Foster crosscountry bestpractice sharing and competency building in Market Access Leadership in Governmental

Patient Advocacy:
Develop and implement governmental affairs strategies to shape healthcare policies globally as well as regionally

  • Define strategic involvement in European industry associations to influence the pharmaceutical political landscape through continuous lobbying and cooperation Build strategic capacities with country managers to identify key stakeholders within Health Systems & Patient Advocacy groups, fostering strong relationships and networks to drive strategy and influence regional and national health policies
  • Proactively manage and influence change to ensure the effectiveness of market access, pricing, and reimbursement during further development in strategic health authority structures

Your Qualifications and Experience:


  • University degree in Pharmacy, Health Economics, Business Administration, or a related field 10+ years of proven experience at affiliate or headquarters level in an international pharmaceutical company (headquarters function is not a must, but a strong asset)
  • Expertise in rare diseases, specialty products and generics within both outpatient and hospital settings
  • Track record of working on a regional, European, or global level Strong understanding of healthcare policies, reimbursement systems, and respective regulations Proven experience in engaging with government bodies and regulatory authorities
  • Ability to navigate and influence healthcare policies on an international scale
  • Proven ability to provide strategic leadership in complex and dynamic environments
  • Track record of driving successful market access and governmental affairs strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders Excellent communication and presentation skills (in English and German)
