Open Position for a

Chief Technology Officer (CTO, f/m/d)
Are you interested in revolutionizing the construction industry towards increased digitization, automation, and sustainable development through building software solutions?

We are an innovative deep-tech spin-off from TU Wien in Austria that develops modern optimization and design solutions for sustainable industrial buildings and production facilities.

With our first working prototype, we as a founder-team, consisting of two (female) civil engineers, are looking for a full-time Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our early-stage start-up team

As our Chief Technology Officer, you will pioneer all aspects of software engineering, including testing, debugging, and integration, while innovatively utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop new software solutions for the Architecture Engineering & Construction (AEC) industry.

Your primary role involves leveraging AI in the technological and product development for automated generation and optimization of sustainable building and manufacturing plans.

Collaborating closely with our CEO and CPO, you will influence strategic decisions and convert conceptual ideas into reality.

With your guidance, we will expand and cultivate our development team, establishing an engaging engineering culture and a robust, scalable, AI-driven platform.

Moreover, your leadership will inspire a team of engineers and provide crucial technical support during sales meetings.

Key Qualifications

• Disciplined programming skillset with a strong attention to detail, preferably in C#/Python
• Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) practices (Algorithms, data structures, and design patterns)
• Familiarity with relational and objectoriented databases
• Experience with Web Technologies, e.g., HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript
• Experience with Front-End frameworks such as AngularJS, Vue.

JS, React and

• Back-End frameworks such as Node.

JS, Laravel/Lumen

• Experience with version control utilizing GIT
• Experience in DevOps activities such as building out of CI/CD pipeline build out and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
• Familiarity with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow)
• Interest with current AEC generative design tools (e.g., Revit/Dynamo, Rhino/Grasshopper, and Visual Programming Languages).

Requirements:

• Your background lies in software engineering, computer science or automation technology (at least a Master's degree, or equivalent training)
• You thrive in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across teams with ability to analyse complex and ambiguous problems.
• You obsessively passionate and inquisitive and seek to tackle everyday problems in innovative ways.
• You are eager to build and lead an efficient engineering team.
• You have an entrepreneurial mind flair and want to contribute significantly to the customer and economic success of the company
• Fluency in English, both orally and in written form

Salary

We are legally obliged to state the minimum salary according to the collective agreement, which is EUR 39,956. We would be happy to tell you more in a personal interview.
