Deliver sustainability activites in Canon CEE to support and drive the local delivery of Canon EMEA's overall sustainability strategy, programmes and objectives.

Manage customer engagement on sustainability, lead social & educational programme activity and, where appropriate, oversee the implementation of circular economy initiatives.

Develop and deliver effective local compliance programmes and activity relating to product safety, environment & waste, and chemicals, and certification in relation to environmental management systems (ISO14001).

  • Provision of bid support to sales teams and manage ongoing customer requests for Sustainability information; tracking trends and collecting data on customer demands on Sustainability.
  • Working in collaboration with local CCMS teams, lead the delivery of local Young People Programmes and other social & educational activity in line with CEMEA's overall strategy and framework for social and educational programmes.
  • Collaborate with NSO CCMS teams to deliver focused and effective communications and activities to improve internal employee engagement measures, also externally to raise Canon's profile on Sustainability. Act as local spokesperson on sustainability matters as necessary. Manage any annual/periodic corporate sustainability reporting requirements if they arise within country of responsibility.
  • Working closely with RSHQ, relevant local departments, and external partners, oversee and monitor the implementation of local compliance delivery in relation to product safety, environment & waste and chemicals. Manage all relevant legal compliance and reporting requirements including in relation to any local warehouse operations.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 certification and demonstrate continuous improvement on environmental management for sites determined by CINC and RSHQ. This includes overseeing all relevant communication, training, data and document management, and auditing requirements. Work with local management teams to ensure risks of nonconformity are successfully controlled.
  • Collate and report local environmental performance data and support RSHQ's monitoring of suppliers' adherence to Canon's Green Procurement standard.

What we ask:


  • Qualification in sustainability, environmental management or similar with membership of a relevant professional institution
  • Experience in building strong, collaborative business relationships to influence sustainable change and drive delivery sustainability programmes.
  • Good knowledge of current sustainability best practice, initiatives and key market drivers including carbon net zero, circular economy and social value.
  • Experience of managing sustainability compliance and certification issues with a good understanding of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) including local implementation and management within a large multisite organisation.
  • Desirable: Experience working in consumer and/or business services, manufacturing and technology.
