Your future responsibilities:

You will be part of SAL's AI research team, responsible for pushing boundaries by developing and testing resilient and trustworthy AI in applied research projects with industrial and scientific partners and colleagues of other units at SAL.

You will present your results to colleagues and at conferences and will publish research papers, as well as work on reports, reviews and summaries.
You are expected to continuously improve your technical expertise in the field, becoming a recognised expert. SAL will support you by facilitating trainings and other means.

Your profile:

Master's degree in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, data science, physics, or a related field.
Passion to dive deep to resolve problems at their root.
Good knowledge and proven track record in Machine Learning, both classical (SVMs, decision trees,) and deep learning (LSTMs, CNNs, transformers,); specific experience in computer vision and / or reinforcement learning is considered advantageous.
Good communication skills, basic presentation and (academic) writing skills.
Very good proficiency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous but not necessary.
Good programming skills in Python.
Experience with code management tooling such as Git (Gitlab).
Experience with frameworks such as Scikitlearn and PyTorch.
