Your role


You will be part of the Data Products team, heading a team of experienced data and ML engineers who build PriceHubble's data products.


As an Engineering Manager, your mission will be to lead a team of engineers and guide them to a successful delivery of several key data products.

You will be in charge of your project goals, contribute to product strategy, manage and mentor the team, and represent the team for their technical output.

You have the technical expertise to contribute to the product and maintain optimal delivery efficiency.

You are curious to deeply understand the impact of the product in the organization and the value it delivers to PriceHubble clients and the real-estate industry.

You lead and support the team with empathy, maintain high morale and ensure rapid learning and development of the team's skills.

Your daily activities

  • Manage several squads of Software Engineers and empower team members to own their work.
  • Provide leadership, drive projects, foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of the projects, the agile delivery of project milestones, and the efficiency of the projects' long term operation.
  • Be hands on and ready to mentor the team, providing architecture, best practices and operational guidance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, architects and product managers, to guarantee we're building the best products

Your mindset

  • You have a strong affinity with the methods and technologies used at PriceHubble: cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, K8s, Helm), Spark, Airflow, Scrapy and Python.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to successfully lead people, teams or projects multiple times.
  • You are able to represent and be accountable for the outcomes delivered by the team.
  • You are able to lead with empathy, and function effectively in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • You are capable of independently planning and executing changes to team staffing to serve company goals: identifying gaps, defining roles, and managing team size.
  • You can contribute to defining strategic directions, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback to ensure team success.
  • You clarify ownership and decision making for the team, and are able to delegate ownership of tactical decisionmaking while maintaining responsibility as tiebreaker where necessary.
  • You are curious and passionate about the domain of real estate and data, and always stay at the forefront of data and ML engineering, quality management, cloud and data ops best practices in the industry.

Requirements:


  • BSc or MSc in computer science or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience as a line manager and 5+ in a squad leadership role
  • Strong ability to speak with layman leaders, and other engineers or scientists with a specialized profile
  • Structured, didactic communicator and able to mentor other engineers and scientists
  • Strong practice using agile methodologies and devops methods
  • Advanced skills in objectoriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
  • Solid skills in designing distributed service architectures and working with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Proficient in the Python data engineering ecosystem
  • Comfortable with collaboration in English and technical communication
