For our location in Raaba-Grambach or in Vienna we are looking for a
Safety Manager for our Business Area Pulp and Paper (M/F/d).

In this global role, you will collaborate with the group, divisions, legal entities, projects and other relevant stakeholders, to provide comprehensive HSE support and to ensure that robust systems are in place to effectively manage risk, promote healthy, safe and comfortable conditions and guarantee legal compliance, while driving continuous improvement and promoting cultural change.


Your Tasks

  • Ensure excellence, operational compliance, and continuous improvement regarding all operational HSE aspects within the organization
  • Ensures a standardized group wide approach based on the respective group policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Maintain and further strengthen the existing Health, Safety & Environmental management system in the Business Area, ensuring its correct implementation
  • Define strategies and priorities, as well as with riskbased decision making within the framework defined by the ANDRITZ Group
  • Being responsible for the correct definition of the yearly HSE budget and HSE targets required to promote global initiatives, champaigns and trainings within the Business Area
  • Coordinating, driving, and harmonizing the activities of the different divisions, product groups, legal entities and locations, facilitating the achievement of the HSE targets and goals of the Business Area
  • Representing the Business Area in Group wide committees and working groups.
  • Monitoring the HSE Performance of the Business Area, reporting to the Management of the Organization, and when necessary, defining immediate corrective actions to ensure the achievement of the annual and long term objectives
  • Providing functional expertise and leadership within the Organization
  • Steers root cause analyses, lessons learned improvements within the Business Area
- oordination of multi-divisional projects during sales and project execution phase

  • Organizing and leading of regular HSE meetings and reviews within the Business Area
  • Showing in all circumstances visible and unconditioned commitment towards all HSE aspects

Your Profile

  • Degree in engineering or technical science, specific education in the area of HSE (industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety and, environment) will be an advantage
  • Additional specific qualifications and certifications in occupational health, safety and environment are a major plus (e.g. Nebosh Diploma, Nebosh International Certificate, or equivalent)
  • Relevant working experience of minimum ten years in international business environment within similar industry sector; previous professional HSE experience on construction sites is highly beneficial
  • Good understanding of international HSE legislation and regulations
  • Familiarity with the handling of topics related to the management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO is highly appreciated
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) is a must, any other language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel internationally (~ 40 %)
  • Advanced in MS Office, familiarity with other tools of a "modern Workplace" like SharePoint, MS-Teams
  • Ability to lead remotely and in a multiculture environment

In Austria we are legally obliged to announce at least a gross monthly salary of € 4.066,84 for this position.

Depending on qualifications and professional experience we offer you a market-based salary.
