Role Purpose:

As the Director of Legal, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for providing accurate, independent, and timely legal advice on various business issues. Your primary focus will be on managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, and maintaining the highest standards of ethical behavior.

Multiple locations possible:
Linz and Vienna (Austria), Grand-Quevilly and Paris (France), Budapest (Hungary) Hungary.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the legal, compliance & ethics, and insurance departments, allocating tasks appropriately.
  • Provide accurate advice to top management on legal and business issues.
  • Oversee major legal issues, disputes, M&A transactions, and restructurings.
  • Ensure sound legal and ethical business practices, promoting awareness of legal risk management.
  • Develop and maintain adequate insurance coverage for LAT Nitrogen.
  • Establish and manage effective customer relationships, supporting negotiations with external parties.
  • Coordinate with internal functions and external stakeholders, including law firms and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Master's degree in law from an accredited university; MBA and business/finance background recommended.
years of relevant experience, preferably in-house or at a quality international law firm.

  • Strong understanding of business processes and strategic issues.
  • People management experience in a leadership role.
  • Excellent command of English, French and German at a business level.
