Über Hayyel Yun:
My name is Hayyel Yun, and I have been living in Vienna since 2002. At the age of seven, I immigrated to Austria because my brother played the violin, and my mother wanted to pursue her passion for music. She also wanted my brother and me to gain new experiences and learn about different perspectives.
As a result, German is my native language, but I also speak English and Korean fluently. Since I enjoy learning new languages as a hobby, I am currently practicing Japanese.
In 2015, I began my studies in Koreanology at the University of Vienna. During my studies, I thought deeply about my future and decided to follow my interests. Skylos was my first dog, through whom I not only experienced many emotions but also improved my skills in dealing with animals. A dog requires a lot of understanding and patience; one must be empathetic but also capable of rational thinking. Through my dog, I learned a lot about the importance of communication between humans and animals.
For this reason, in 2020, I decided to pursue a training course to become a dog trainer at the Academy for Applied Animal Psychology and Animal Behavior Training (ATN). In 2021, I successfully passed the written and oral exams to become a dog trainer and also obtained the certificate as an animal welfare-qualified dog trainer. It is very important to me that training is species-appropriate and violence-free.
Thanks to my experience at the Tierquartier Wien, I am aware of the importance of precise procedures and the individual needs of dogs. It is my concern to give the dogs in my care a sense of security while always adhering to the rules to ensure the safety of all animals and people.
Since 2022, I have been working at the Messerli Research Institute, where I assist with administrative tasks. Additionally, I work as an examiner for therapy dogs and as a freelance dog trainer.
My greatest strengths are my passion for learning new knowledge and my willingness to openly admit mistakes. For me, it is important to continuously develop myself. Furthermore, I have a strong sense of responsibility, and I always strive for harmonious collaboration.
Expanding my personal knowledge is very important to me, which is why I am currently training to become an assistance dog trainer.
I am happy to answer your questions and look forward to a personal interview.
Sincerely,
Hayyel Yun
