Nadine Lowden

Hi!

I'm Nadine.

I love to collaborate with great people on meaningful projects.

After an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree spanning the fundamentals of design, architecture, and interior design, I was inspired to move into the tech spaces of interaction design, working with UX/UI, programming, VR/AR/XR, game, mobile, and web design. 

Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, I am now completing my graduate studies in Interaction Design at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria.

I am a self-described "jack-of-all-trades" designer. I believe that my experiences in a variety of design fields help me to approach each new project with an open mind, curiosity, and resourcefulness. I am passionate about what I do, and am always enthusiastic about learning new skills, programs, and fun facts.

In my spare time, I love to make the most of Graz's wonderful coffee shops and good company. I also love to read, paint, cook, and see as much of the world as possible.

In addition to my education, my professional experiences have equipped me with valuable skills in communication, creativity, and collaboration. As a Communications Assistant at the Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC), I was responsible for creating and editing various multimedia content and assisting in projects focused on innovation, gender equality, sustainability, and global citizenship. Moreover, my role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Manitoba allowed me to work on educational initiatives, including the development of ARCHITOYTONIC, an educational platform dedicated to design, building toys, and play.

A little bit about me – In September of 2022, I moved to Graz from my hometown of Winnipeg, Canada to pursue my Master of Arts in Interaction Design at FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences. I am currently completing my master’s thesis, in which I am researching social connection and cohesion in a post-pandemic era, seeking a design-based solution for promoting and maintaining social infrastructure.

My bachelor’s studies spanned the fundamentals of design, architecture, and interior design, and I chose to further diversify my skills by moving into the areas of UX/UI, programming, VR/AR/XR, game, mobile, and web design during my master’s studies. I am now most passionate about people-centered projects that keep empathy and real-world problem solving at the forefront.
