    As part of the Materials Team within Large Corporates (LC) you will develop our position with clients in the Construction and Building Materials (C&BM) industry across Austria and CEE. As an Industry Advisor (VP) you will act as the bank's permanent face to the client's headquarters and are responsible for all client-related activities along the deal value chain for the defined industry. If defined targets are met there is a clear perspective to develop into an Industry Leader role (D) for the C&BM industry, which is one of the most important sectors within our LC portfolio.

    You will be fully responsible for the overall financial result achieved with the defined client group portfolio with special attention paid on group-wide risk/return and efficient group-wide credit limit allocation. A key function is to foster cross-selling and a multi-product/multi-country approach based on a pro-active strategic dialogue with the client (i.e. trusted advisor role) in close collaboration with all relevant products, countries, risk management and other relevant internal stakeholders as well as coordinate deal teams where appropriate. In your industry coverage role it is key to understand the industry and trends, growth, innovation and risk factors focusing on high business impact relevance for our region and translating this into concrete business leads and deals. Special attention shall be given to situations with deteriorating credit metrics and mega trends influencing the client portfolio / whole industry. It is important to gain an understanding of the leading players relevant for our region, develop a strategic industry network and ensure knowledge management across our group.

    Your Tasks

  • ​​​​​​Define and implement the strategy for the C&BM industry in close collaboration with products, countries, risk and all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Act as central point of contact for the defined group of customers – direct and frequent contact with customers (e.g. top management of large domestic company and/or international company)
  • Contribute to the development and execute business strategies for your portfolio across the group
  • Acquisition of new customers in our defined region
  • Independent collaboration and alignment with all relevant internal stakeholders (product, countries, risk, ...)
  • Negotiate terms and conditions, finalize loan and collateral documentation in cooperation with the legal department
  • Define client engagement and limit strategy for the respective client or group of clients
  • Presentation of credit applications in the relevant committees with suggestions and provision as basis for relevant decisions
  • Be present at industry events to gain knowledge about mega trends and lead client discussions in order to identify the losers and winners
  • Your Background

  • ​​​​​University degree / master's degree is an advantage
  • Credit School is of advantage / extensive product knowledge
  • At least 3-5 years of experience within the Corporate banking and/or markets area
  • Communicative personality confident in client situations and presenting in-house
  • Knowledge about Capital Markets and passion to work with clients in the C&BM industry
  • Analytical skills - understanding financials and acting as first line of defense for the bank
  • Curiosity to learn more about the C&BM industry and derive your own opinion on market developments (key metrics, mega trends...)
  • Value driven personality in respect of Erste Group values and sustainability.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills with a motivation to work as a team player in multidisciplinary and cross-cultural transaction teams
  • Responsible attitude with the ability to take pro-active initiative while acting in a most reliable and structured manner at the same time
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and in German, routine in negotiations
  • Willingness to travel (Europe, Austria, CEE)

  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 48.323,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person
