- Design of mechanical steel components from concept to virtual and physical prototypes
- Integration of mechanical, hydraulic and electric modules or subsystems throughout the entire Product Development Process until serial production
- Optimal design for the customer – Design to cost and Value Engineering and performing the interface to Product Management, Quality and Service
- Optimal design for PALFINGER – Design for manufacturing and assembling and performing the interface to Cost Controlling, Procurement and Operations
- Optimization of the overall system and individual components acc. different design criteria
- Cooperation with Advanced Development Teams and Center of Excellences and further Product Line entities (e.g. Quality, Standards and Intellectual Property) to ensure product excellence
- Validation of the design in physical prototypes and coordinating product verification with Prototyping and Testing
- Technical education in the field of mechanical engineering or similar
- Several years (min. 5) of professional experience in the field of mechanical engineering
- Strong social and intercultural competence/communication and language skills
- Analytical thinking and independent, goal-oriented and systematic way of working
- Fast information gathering and rapid learning of existing and new knowledge
- Willingness to become a subject matter expert in developing Stiffboom cranes
- Daily contribution to a continuous improvement (processes, global teamwork, lessons learned)
- Team player who takes ownership and responsibility
- Very good knowledge of German and English and readiness to travel
